Tony graduated form Harper High School.  She received her BS Degree from Sul Ross in 1952, and completed a MS in Education in 1968. Her major course of study was education along with a certification in Education Diagnostics. For 10 years Tony was an educational diagnostician and special education Librarian for the Ector County Schools. She taught for 31 years. Tony donates her time to several organizations; she is a charter member/director of the Pioneer Historical Society in Harper, and has been a member of the Harper Community Chest, an organization that serves the needy.  She is a member of the Sheep and Goat Raisers and the Harper Chamber of Commerce. Ranching is a way of life for Tony and her family. She resided on a portion of the Historic Parker Ranch in Kimble County that was founded in 1874. The Family Land Heritage honored the Parker family with a certificate for a century or more of continuous ownership and operation of the Parker Ranch.

Tony participated as a young girl in rodeos, before coming to Sul Ross. Not many rodeo events escaped Tony. She was a rough stock rider, competing in bull riding and bareback bronc riding. Tony has been featured in Life Magazine as an All Girl Rodeo contestant and the Houston Chronicle and Beaumont Enterprise have done stories about her rodeo experiences. She is long time member of the ANRS & Rodeo Exes.

Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor which can be bestowed on an individual by the ANRS & Rodeo Exes Association.  This honor is for ANRS graduates or friends and recognizes those who have represented the Association, the ANRS Department, or Sul Ross State University with distinction through their personal and/or professional achievements which brought honor to our University.  Nominations may be submitted by any member at any time.  The ANRS & Rodeo Exes Board of Directors will periodically review nominations and determines inductees into the Hall of Fame.  Inductions are not necessarily held annually, but rather when a sufficient pool of inductees is obtained.  The induction ceremony is at the Annual Reunion held the last weekend of July in Alpine.

Make a nomination for a deservation individual for induction into the ANRS & Rodeo Exes Hall of Fame!

There is certainly room among these fine individuals for additional honorees.  Please give some consideration to nominating a deserving individual for induction into the Hall of Fame.
